He has spent a working life refusing shortcuts. A young tree tied too tightly will carry the damage for years. A drainage trench that looks complete can still send water toward the wrong foundation. Claims deserve time, weather, and inspection.
So the sixteen-year gap interests him.
The file names Antonia Raco, diagnosed with Primary Lateral Sclerosis. The Diocese of Tursi-Lagonegro states that after a 2009 pilgrimage she began moving independently and the effects of the disease disappeared. It also states that, after lengthy investigation, the International Medical Committee of Lourdes judged the recovery medically unexplained according to current scientific knowledge. Her bishop formally recognized it on 16 April 2025.
That is what the sources say. No larger claim is needed. The account does not predict what happens in another body. It does not compete with medicine. It places two dates beside a walking frame and refuses to disappear when examined.
Careful inspection can leave a door open
Faith does not require carelessness. Scripture asks believers to test what they hear. A true account is not weakened by honest boundaries; it is protected by them.
The official Lourdes process compares records before and after a reported recovery, seeks specialist opinion, and asks whether the change is complete, lasting, and exceptional according to present knowledge. That process belongs to its institution. You do not need to adopt every theological conclusion around it in order to notice what the medical committee concluded.

The written Word does not say every outcome repeats. It says Jesus does not expire. The Holy Spirit can make that present tense alive without making you credulous.
You are free to remain careful and remain open. The written Word names Jesus unchanged, and the Holy Spirit gives you courage to look without surrendering judgment.
The calendar was never a boundary around Christ
Perhaps your quiet conclusion was never “God cannot.” It was “God did, long ago, in a world unlike mine.” That sentence feels prudent because it asks nothing of today.
But prudence cannot promote itself into a decree Scripture never issued. A calendar measures time. It does not govern the living Christ.
The sixteen-year review does not prove every miracle claim. It does something smaller and useful: it interrupts the claim that every modern account collapses under patient attention.
You are not required to call every report true, and you are not required to call every present possibility false. The written Word gives Christ the present tense, and the Holy Spirit keeps your mind both sober and awake.
The breakthrough is not an argument won. It is a date limit removed.
You can say, “This account was reported in our century, reviewed across years, and formally recognized.” You can also say, “It does not promise me the same event.” Truth loses nothing when both sentences stand together.
The former groundskeeper knows this posture. Test the root. Check the tie. Watch through seasons. When something remains alive, do not call it dead because the inspection took time.
Jesus Christ is the same. His compassion is His. His power is His. His wisdom and every outcome are His. Your part is not to manufacture certainty. It is to stop using the calendar as a fence God never built.

A witness widens possibility without becoming a measuring rod
Antonia Raco's record belongs to her history. It cannot be laid across another person's body as a standard, and it cannot explain why another prayer remains unanswered. Testimony is a window, not a ruler.
That distinction protects hope. You can look through a window and see that the world extends beyond the room you have occupied. You do not have to climb through it, copy the landscape, or condemn yourself because your view is different. The written Word keeps authority here, and the Holy Spirit carries this truth without pressure.
Medical care remains honorable. Continuing treatment does not signal unbelief. No one should change medication, equipment, or professional care because of a story they read here. The account's carefulness asks for carefulness in return.
You are free to receive witness without carrying comparison. The written Word fixes your eyes on the unchanged Jesus, and the Holy Spirit keeps another person's recovery from becoming a burden on you.
The record can do its proper work: remove an absolute dismissal and leave a present-tense question with God.
Declare this over yourself
Because you are in Christ, you speak from His standing, not from borrowed excitement. Whatever He does and however He answers remain His to decide. The written Word keeps authority here, and the Holy Spirit carries this truth without pressure.
